Book Review: I wear the smile you gave

Title: I wear the smile you gave
Author: Shweta Shah
Genre: Romance
Ratings: 4/5

Plot and story: The story is about an army man, Ajeet who help in hospitalizing a boy, injured in road accident. This incident takes him to the flashback of his own disheartening past.
Back in past, Ajeet is a neutral boy who joins Inter college after scoring good percentage in the board examination. New to the environment of college, he initially keeps himself very conservative but after few days, he finds some friends those lead to change his nature by the time. Later, there comes a curious girl named Aditi who is the lab partner of Ajeet and secretly develops feelings for him. Being unknown to Aditi’s feeling, Ajeet finds his true love in another girl, Sumi, whom he meets in the coaching classes. This love triangle takes these three lives to a level where all of them gets changed in a certain way. After few years, there comes a twist in the story when a tragedy happens and Ajeet gets betrayed by the destiny which instills him so many things. By the end of the story, you may get tears in your eyes. The story seems lame at the starting but then after it takes a pace increasingly with suspense which makes this story flawless and outstanding. It is a heterogeneous mixture of love, friendship, family, and self-recognition.

Narration and Language: The author has logically narrated the story that creates a suspense and holds the reader to the story. Because of the narration, this story is gripping and it directly connects to the heart of a reader. The language used is simple yet effective and its impact stays for long.

Characterization: The characterization is awesome and each character has been beautifully justified by the author. The three main characters Ajeet, Aditi, and Sumi are the gems of this book but the character of Ajeet is far impactful and connecting that makes the reader cry.

Cover Page: The cover page is so adorable that perfectly fits with the plot and justify this story in every way. It generates the curiosity to know what’s really the story is about when looked at first sight.

Overview: I would say that this book is really a must read for everyone as this story is far different from the rest of love stories and presented so well. The story has a hidden message on how to stay strong and fight with our own life with an aroma of love. This book will definitely take your heart away, bring tears to your eyes, and be in your mind for a long time. Coming to the author, Shweta Shah has done a phenomenal job and I would congratulate her for this book. So, if you’re looking for a good book this week, you should go through this book.

Favorite lines: Our little one hunts for you every now and then,
And her eyes ask me, Where’s Maa? and I feel the pain,
Yet, keeping the promise that I made,
I wear the smile you gave.
